H. Martin Smith III - PrESIDENT

H. Martin Smith, III (Mickey) is President of Martin Smith Inc, one of Seattle’s premier commercial real estate investment companies specializing primarily in landmark office buildings. Mickey is also a Director of the Matthew G. Norton Company, a Seattle based real estate investment and management company. He also serves as a director of WasteWise, the Methow Valley garbage company, and CAMP Trucking. 

Mickey has extensive real estate experience, serving as the Managing Member of numerous real estate partnership and limited liability companies that own and manage approximately 1 million square feet of office space in numerous buildings in downtown Seattle.



Ryan oversees the management of Martin Smith Inc's 20 building portfolio. He was the third generation of Smith's to join the firm when he began his career in 2003. Ryan is Board Co-Chair of the Alliance for Pioneer Square, a neighborhood non-profit economic development group. He also serves on the Board of Friends of Waterfront Seattle, a non-profit partner working with the City of Seattle on the redevelopment of Seattle's waterfront. In addition, he is also a Board Member of the Downtown Seattle Association.


Mark H. Astor - Property Manager

Mark is responsible for the day-to-day operations for a number of Martin Smith Inc Seattle properties including the 1201 Western Building, Provident Building, Piers 55 & 56, the Marion Block, Holyoke Building, and 1st & King Building. Mark joined Martin Smith Inc in 2000 and has more than 21 years of commercial property management experience.

 Mark previously worked as a project manager and commercial property manager for a local real estate ownership and development group overseeing commercial properties located in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle.



Johan oversees the day-to-day leasing and operations of several historic Seattle properties in the Martin Smith Inc portfolio including the Terminal Sales Building, Occidental Mall (Burke & State Buildings), Union Trust Building, Watermark Tower and the 1943 1st Avenue South Building in SoDo. He joined Martin Smith Inc in 2010 in the role of Project Manager focused on completing a variety of capital improvement projects throughout the portfolio and took on the new role of Property Manager shortly thereafter. His introduction to the Commercial Real Estate industry occurred in the mid-2000's on the property management team of the 901 5th Avenue office tower. Prior to joining Martin Smith Inc, Johan worked for several years at a local specialty foods company in roles overlapping Sales, Operations and Finance.
